Hidden Things

by Taras Castle

Issue 5 :: Winter 2009 (poetry)

the belly of every songbird
there is a purse of gold coins.

and she is buying a pound of liver.
It is the reason they chirp all of the time,

she says. They have a secret inside,
but do not know how to tell it.
