mags piled for shipping
I'd say, "Guess what!?" but hopefully that's evident from the post title. Our printer turned around the magazines in record time and we started mailing them out on Tuesday. Everything should be shipped by the end of the week. I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

Issue 2's shortlist is overstuffed with fiction, though we're hurting for a few good articles, and could also use more art.  That notwithstanding, we're going to open Issue 3 for submissions shortly--and we're going to try something a little different with it.  Issue 3 is going to be themed, though we intend for there to be as much variety in the theme (and around it, some, to keep it company) as can be reasonably done.  Stay tuned for the theme, which will be announced within the next few days. :)

Articles and art will still be considered for Issue 2, first, and then Issue 3, when submitted.

And we're delighted with the success our reviews are having--I'm probably going to have to break my rule of "no more than one review per week" shortly, though that rule is some of what's holding my sanity intact.  I've recently read "Watch Out" by Joseph Suglia, am in the process of reading "Species Crown" by Curtis Smith and "The Guardener's Tale" by Bruce Boston (who co-contributed to Issue 0 with the gut-busters comic), and have a stack of others to get to; meanwhile the queries continue to pour in.  For variety, I'm expecting both a cook book and a children's book shortly.

Don't forget to stop by our reviews and enter to win the review copy!  We raffle them off to commenters (see the first comment on any given review for details).

I received my copy in the mail this weekend -- I like the glossy cover. Issue 1's next on my list after the book I'm reading now. Looking forward to it!
